My view : It took me a week to read this book and with every passing day I gained new insights to the beauty of life. Elements of life is like a dark cloud forbearing the news of rain to the parched hearts. It is like the rays of sunshine to gloomy days. I went into the pages and came out of it a different person. Yes, that is what good books do to us. They help us grow.
The title promptly describes the main theme of the book the four different elements of life namely, Air, Water, Fire and the almighty Earth.
The cover is simple and the part of it the catches my eye is the Earth. The picture has been so beautifully captured that it immediately gets brownie points on the aesthetic basis.
We are all acquainted with the four basic elements of life. Nature has immensely affected our lives and well-being and this is what Inderjit Kaur emphasises on. She reminds us of all the positivity and happiness of a balanced life that we have so easily forgotten. Air is the element that teaches us to adjust and to be as pure as itself. Water is that element that gives a lesson in adaptation. Fire tells us to glow compassionately and acquire. Whereas, Earth teaches us to accept and be kind. The first section of the book is effortlessly dedicated to these four main elements and excellent metaphors characterize them.
The most interesting parts are the pearls of wisdom. Even after finishing the book, I went back and read the pearls of wisdom and they rejuvenated me. When one is tensed and there is a lot of stress in their life, then these wise lines will be their life saviour.
The second part is full of meaningful messages to the readers so that they can connect with the author and her words. The journal is mainly two parts “Say, Yes to Life” and “Yes, I can”. The most important thing the author tells us to keep in mind is to be positive and find rewarding thoughts within the most difficult of times. She tells us to keep our head high and bring minute changes in our lifestyle. A little discipline, responsibility and a lot of courage and compassion are the keys to a happy and beautiful life.
The book ends with a remarkable poem and it is exceptionally heart-touching. The poem and the book gives a very essential message “Keep Smiling. Keep Shining. Keep Living. For Life is Awesome.”
Cheers to the goodness of life.
