When you go to a new place, you wonder how it compares with the place you are from. Your first instinct is to either criticise or compliment. You look for the things you love about the place or not so much. Moving to Ghaziabad has been a revelation for me and I have made my fair share of judgements about it. But amongst it all, the library happens to be my favourite place in my college. A library is judged either by its vast collection of books catering to every member, or by the rare beauties it holds or by the ease of issuing books. I love libraries because of their ambience. If they make me feel comfortable and relaxed enough to finish books, then it becomes one of my favourites. Do you visit libraries near you? What is the primary reason you go to a library for?

As predicted, this book was nothing short of extraordinary. A book that talks of a surrogacy farm, wherein women can act as hosts and their wombs are for sale is bound to be ground breaking. The book delivers as promised and I was so engrossed in it, that it hardly took me four hours to finish reading it. So what makes this book one of the best reads of the year? - The striking resemblance to the real world where women's bodies are either for sale or for policing. - The well thought characterisation which will make you feel invested in their lives. - The writing style is so so good. I have become a huge fan of Ramos thanks to her beautiful composition. Although this book has been compared with The Handmaid's Tale but I think that would be a little unfair. However if you are a fan of The Handmaid's Tale then I am confident you will fall in love with The Farm too. Do you like dystopian novels? Which are your favourites? #unitedbookstagram

When you get to spend your Sunday afternoons bookstore hopping. The happy happy sight of books makes me feel like a little kid again, with that twinkle in my eye. Question : Now that I am moving to another city, I would love to know some of your suggestions regarding bookstores I can visit in Delhi.

You know how we read about books and relate to the current scenario. Something of the kind happened to me while I browsed through the pieces in this book. The Alabama Abortion Ban has yet again strongly reminded us of why feminism is still needed and how the White Supremacists aren't exceptions to its needs. Needless to say, abortion is a personal choice and no government, law maker or as a matter of anyone else other than the person who is pregnant gets a say in it. However, more than often the people with power and privilege and an upper hand over their counterparts fail to grasp this. Our bodies sexualised, our existence objectified and our clothes victimised, we, women, have had to yet again fight tooth and nail for what should be basic human rights. It's Not About The Burqa, although talks about the hurdles and stigmas that a Muslim woman has to face in the world, however the voices ring true for all the women still being put through hell because of their gender. It's not about the Burqa, the kurta, the dupatta, the skirt or the bikini. It is about the human beings that we are beneath the layers of gender, religion, class, race or profession.
